Gold Pennine Champions Award winners

114 Year 7 students achieved their Gold Pennine Champions Award this academic year!

The Pennine Champions Award spans across all Pennine Trust schools where the Year 5 students at Blacko, Laneshaw Bridge and Lord Street focus on Bronze level and Park High Year 7 students work towards Gold.

This academic year has seen a whopping 114 Year 7s receive their Gold award. This is a phenomenal achievement which shows real character and commitment from our students. To achieve their Gold award, students must complete four sections: Outdoor and Adventure (7 hours), Environment and the Community (7 hours), Skill (12 hours) and Physical (12 hours).

The idea behind this award is to prepare students for their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh award in Year 9 where volunteering, navigation and camping are all carried out.

On Friday, Year 7 celebrated the success of the Gold Pennine Champions winners where all students received their certificate and badge to honour their successes this year. A variety of exciting activities were celebrated, including jewellery making, first aid, gymnastics, football refereeing and App designing just to name a few!

All 114 children were also placed into a Spin the Wheel generator where Amelia Ross was the lucky winner of a £20 Amazon voucher! Well done Amelia.

A huge well done to all students who achieved their Gold Pennine Champions award this year, we are extremely proud of you! #ambition
