Year 7 Girls reach County Final

A great win away at Clitheroe has seen the Year 7 girls football team reach the County Final
A thrilling match saw our Year 7 girls' football team secure their place in the Lancashire Cup Final after a nail-biting penalty shootout against Clitheroe Royal Grammar School.
The game started with Park taking an early lead, thanks to a well-placed goal from Heidi. The team showed great determination and skill throughout, working together to create chances and defend strongly. The girls took control of the game and showed plenty of attacking threat as they were trying to get the second goal. However, Clitheroe Grammar equalised in the last ten minutes after sustained pressure, setting the stage for a dramatic conclusion.
With the score level at full time, the match went to penalties. Madison and Heidi both kept their composure to score their spot-kicks with confidence. Clitheroe had missed their first penalty, and Pola made a crucial save to deny Clitheroe’s third penalty, showcasing her resilience under pressure and helping Park to win on penalties. The entire team displayed outstanding teamwork and determination, demonstrating their hard work and training throughout the season.
The victory was met with celebrations from the players and Mr Morrison. The girls have shown great spirit and skill throughout the competition, and we are incredibly proud of their achievement.
We look forward to supporting them in the final at Darwen Football Club on 22nd May – well done, girls!
