Year 7 footballers start with a win

Our Year 7 football team were in action for the first time on Tuesday night as they visited Pendle Vale for the first game of their Pendle League season.

The boys settled in to the game quickly and soon took the lead through a goal from Charlie Hardacre.  Over the course of the first half we were unlucky with a number of players hitting the post or crossbar as Max Metcalfe, Joey Smith and Lewis Thompson looked dangerous going forward.   Our back 3 of Ethan Kirrage, Harry Vickery and Kai Kucukcan protected Oscar Williams in goal well, and we were unlucky to only lead 3-2 at half-time.  Following some reflection at half-time it was really pleasing to see the team had listened to what they had been asked to try and do, and they dominated the 2nd half creating chance after chance.  Oscar Mulligan was strong in the midfield and James Hindle and Kalen Satta kept things tight in defence.  The boys were calmer on the ball and looked to exploit the wide areas, adding more goals to their tally to finish as 8-2 winners.  

Goalscorers were Joey Smith (3), Lewis Thompson (2), Charlie Hardacre (2) and Kalen Satta.
