Park Pupils at Lancashire Schools Athletics

A group of pupils participated in the Lancashire Schools Athletics last weekend with some excellent results.

On Saturday 8 June a number of Park pupils went to represent Pendle at the Lancashire Schools Athletics held at UCLAN in Preston.

All of the pupils performed superbly and we are really proud of their efforts.  Sam Handley finished in 4th place in his semi final heat of the Inter boys 100m, only just missing out on a place in the final.  Lottie Hesketh finished in 10th place in the Junior Girls 1500m.  Another good performance although Lottie definitely will have had one eye on her Sunday race in the English Schools Fell racing competition where she remains on track to make the British training squad (more on this to come in the future).  Max Belshaw is starting to really emerge as an outstanding middle distance runner and continued his recent success with his club, Blackburn Harriers, by finishing 2nd in the Inter Boys 800m.  The highlight of the day was the performance of Phoebe Law (pictured) in the Junior Girls 100m.  In her first experience at this level Phoebe showed no nerves as she sprinted to victory to be crowned Lancashire Champion.

A really successful day with some brilliant pupils – well done to all!
