U14 Girls Doubles
Following a successful Singles tournament Park visited Fishermore for the U14 doubles event taking 2 pairs of Kara Turner and Martha Pearson (both Year 9) and Ava Garner (year 8) and Scarlett Bannister (year 7). The teams were placed in separate groups competing again against a number of teams from Fishermore and Primet. The group stages were made up of 6 teams who played matches up to 7 points.
Both teams won every game in their group, enhancing them to the semi final where Kara and Martha played against Primet. Kara and Martha got off to a rocky start losing their first point but quickly pulling it back to a well deserved 7 - 4 win. Ava and Scarlett played against Fishermore completing a quick game with a triumphant 7 - 2 win. Therefore, both Park teams had advanced to the final. The final match consisted of a game upto 21 points. The first point went to Ava and Scarlett quickly followed by a comeback from Kara and Martha. An absolutely thrilling match to watch with some fantastic defensive and attacking plays being made by both teams. All pupils gave their all with Kara and Martha winning the match in a 21 -12 win over Ava and Scarlett. A fantastic effort by all and it must be mentioned that this puts us in good stead for next year as Ava and Scarlett achieving runners up in an U14 competition. Well done girls!
